I was approached last week by someone who was trying to recruit me into a “pre-launch” Network Marketing Opportunity. Now, first of all, when I see a Network Marketing company in pre-launch I’m certainly NOT going to get involved. I’ve been in the [tag]home business[/tag] industry long enough to know that a “ground floor opportunity” simply means you’ll be crushed when the rest of the building falls.
It’s my opinion that the people who get excited about Network Marketing pre-launches, are either: “money gamers”, or people who need to check in to the [tag]MLM Addiction[/tag] clinic. Start-ups in the mlm industry rarely succeed. It’s a gamble to get invovled, and most likely will never pay out.
The gentleman who was trying to recruit me to his deal, knew about my success in the industry. No doubt, he felt that if he could get me involved, he’d be set to earn an awesome risidual income off of my efforts. Well, what he didn’t think about was that my experience tells me – His “Super Duper Lightening energy exclusive exotic fruit drink” may look like a can’t miss opportunity, but the reality is – there are about a gazillion super-charged exotic concoctions already. All he has, is the Network Marketing “flavor of the month”. I’m after long-term [tag]risidual[/tag] dollars, not short-term hype.
But… it did raise an interesting point…
I’ve been quite a successful home-based business entrepreneur. In my opinion, there is not a better industry to work in. The things that frustrate me in the industry are the ridiculous marketers who use hype and manipulation to recruit their downline. I’m always amazed that people fall for the silly marketing pitches that many networkers use.
I believe there are several reasons Networkers use hype to promote their product and/or opportunity. Here are a few of the reasons I see:
- They are greedy, and want to get people signed at any cost
- They have an inferior product or opportunity, and have to hype it to cover the flaws
- The are poorly trained by their upline, or Company
- The company has a poor management team and Compliance department
- Their is a lack of [tag]qualified prospects[/tag]
- New to the [tag]Network Marketing Industry[/tag], and don’t know any better
- Don’t know how to get prospects
- Desperate – and broke
If you are a [tag]networker[/tag] who uses hype in your recruiting, STOP the madness. Quit taking food out of the mouths of innocent children, just so you can get a quick start bonus.
