What is Podcasting and How to Start Today?

August 3, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Podcasting is an amazing and easy tool for traffic generation.  Anyone can create a podcast on any subject, and it can be started without major expense.  The issue is, many people just don’t know how to begin.  With that, I want to answer the question “What is Podcasting and How Can I Start Today“?

Podcasting is a system that lets you download audio programs directly to your iPod or other media player.  You may listen to these audio programs later on whenever and wherever you want to listen to them.   Many people like to download podcasts so they can listen to them while they exercise or do housework.  The advantages of Podcasting is that it allows a person to listen to audio content of their choice without any charge – and at a time of their convenience.  Therefore, Podcasting has proven to be a far better alternative to the traditional radio.

So, how do I Start Podcasting?

Podcasting is a very easy process. You do not need anything other than an Internet-ready computer and a portable media player.  Even if you do not have a portable media player, you can begin Podcasting simply using a computer  that has an Internet connection.    There are many websites that really help you get started with Podcasting.  One of my favorite sites that allows you to create audio content is BlogTalkRadio.   Without question, they are the best-of-the best when it comes to ease of use, unmatched value, and quality service.  They are one of the treasures of the internet for providing convenient marketing resources without major expense and a difficult learning curve.  Obviously, I highly recommend the resource and believe it can be a major tool in your marketing arsenal – especially for creating quality audio content.

There are certainly other resources available to help you gather information on podcasting and audio creation, and to get you started quickly.

Years ago I shared the importance of the emerging social media trend in building traffic.  At the time, I called podcasting and social media the direction that online marketing was heading – and the emerging importance in the marketplace.  Obviously, we can see that value on display today in every area of the internet community.

Common Stumbling Blocks in MLM and How to Overcome Them

November 15, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Contrary to some of the whining that goes on, Network Marketing is an excellent industry for those who really work.  Of course, not everyone is going to be successful in the industry.  There are reasons why some people have great success, while others fail miserably.  Let’s discuss some common stumbling blocks in MLM and how to easily overcome them

The people who complain that their MLM opportunity is not working for them are actually not doing things in the way they should.  Factually speaking, the concept of network marketing is generally foolproof.  The MLM model is not the problem.  The mistakes that people make is the reason the marketing model fails.  Let’s discuss some of the mistakes that people make, and how they can be avoided.

Choosing the Wrong Company

This is the most common mistake.  People who hear about MLM are so much in a hurry to start out with things that they do not care what kind of company they are enrolling themselves in.  Do not commit this mistake.  Take  time to do research on several opportunities and try to understand the business plans.  Really dig into the compensation plan so you will understand how you will earn income for your efforts.  Only when you are thoroughly convinced must you go ahead with the network marketing venture. If you are not convinced yourself, how can you convince others? Select an MLM opportunity that is most suitable to you. Read more

Easy Ways to Get Prospects With Your Blog

November 14, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Each visitor to your blog or website is a potential customer, and any changes you make to the overall site design, usability, or quality of content on your blog can create or damage the customer-client relationship. You want to avoid turning visitors away because of a poorly-constructed site or presentation, and obviously set your sights on finding ways to boost traffic.

Making yourself more discoverable is one part of “Search Engine Optimization” (SEO) techniques, and can help you reach the top rankings of search engines so potential visitors can find you after a simple search.  If you are looking to build a long-term traffic source that regularly funnels targeted prospects to your blog, I’d suggest staying away from ”questionable” traffic generation practices.  If you add good quality content to your site and build healthy linking relationships, the Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc) will reward you with good rankings – which will give you great traffic.  Let’s discuss this in greater detail, so you can start (easily) getting prospects to your opportunity by using your blog.

Increasing visitors requires both a technical approach and some direct marketing. You’ll want to start by making sure you are hosting the blog or website on your own domain; this makes it much easier for search engines to find, and also makes your URL much more credible. You can then use the URL name itself to promote it, adding a ‘www’ tag to your postings, e-mail signatures, and other information that you share on the web. Read more
