We’re all Doomed!

I get so tired of hearing all the propaganda about how we are in such dire times.  If you read the papers or listen to the news, you know what I’m talking about.  It seems we are under a constant attack by people who want to alter our perceptions into believing there is no hope.

That’s garbage!

Certainly, we are in difficult economic times and good people are hurting.  But the reality is, there are many savvy individuals who are having more success than ever before.  The sharp marketers have established a mindset that will endure regardless of the circumstances that surround them.

This year, in spite of the economic climate, I predict there will be a record breaking number of successful Network Marketing entrepreneurs created.  I also believe internet marketers will build vast empires, because the flood of traffic created by people searching for new home-business opportunities.

Will you be one of them?  Really, the choice is yours.

The times are ripe for your success.

Let me give a few suggestions…

First, I would encourage you to honestly evaluate your belief system in how you view your own success.   By that I mean - do you honestly believe that you can earn a “BIG” income?  Do you know that you can be  a leader in your Network Marketing company?

Everyone has a different opinion of what big is, so it is really up to you to define.   Since it’s a New Year, I certainly encourage you to upgrade your belief to a place that will stretch you a bit.

As you begin to really evaluate your beliefs and establish your goals for your growth, you also may want to consider your relationships.  It may seem strange, but the reality is - those who speak into your life are having a direct influence into your success.

Statistics show that your income is directly relative to the people you hang around and are associated with.  Your income is usually an average of the incomes of the 5 people you are closest to.

Some of us have listened to the “nay-sayer’s” for so long that our belief in our ability to achieve great success is damaged.  You’ve heard it just like I have… “You can’t make money with those type programs”.   Negative comments have created doubts in our minds and have hindered us from really pushing our success to the limit.  My advice is to drop the dead-beats, and surround yourself with successful people who want you to succeed as well.

Final point…  The choices you make, will help determine your level of success.  If you choose to believe that you will earn a huge income, you WILL!

When Your Upline Goes AWOL

Network Marketing is a great industry.  It’s especially wonderful, if you are fortunate enought to find an excellent product line with a stable company.  Maximizing your financial rewards through the compensation plan can certainly be achieved if you take time to understand your income opportunity.

As with any business, you should take time to establish a business plan which includes your marketing strategy.  You will obviously have some insight into some of the specific elements of your opportunity, because there was something that interested you enough to get invovled.  The “hook” that brought you in, is probably a key interest for you - so you will likely utilize that interest in your recruiting efforts.

Unfortunately, most people who get involved with a Network Marketing opportunity do not really take their business seriously.  They join because they were given a slick pitch by their sponsor, or perhaps they really like the product.  Many people get involved because they want to believe this is the opportunity that will bring them financial freedom.

Certainly, there are great rewards in building a Network Marketing sales organization.  But it does take work, and it must be treated as a business - your business.

Don’t Believe the “Trickle-down” Hype

I have been in the Network Marketing Industry as a top-earning Distributor, and also have been a high-level Executive at the Corporate Level.  I’ve experienced the industry from both sides, operations and distributor marketing.

As a Corporate Executive, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to thousands of Distributor comments, suggestions, and complaints.  In most cases, Distributors are merely venting frustrations for the fact they are not making the type of money they expected when they joined the opportunity.  They were “led” to believe (by their sponsor) they would make great money - and have to do very little to “earn” it.   In fact, the distributor who was recruited them emphatically promised that they would receive “spill”, or (as I like to call it) “trickle-down” sales volume.

In my opinion, the biggest problem in Network Marketing is the hype that lousy marketers use to get people to join with them.  Network Marketing virgins are gullible to the tactics, because they really want the “hope” of a true residual income.  The problem is - the hope quickly fades once the reality is revealed.

In the MLM industry, unfortunately there are very few massively successful Distributors.  Perhaps the majority will claim success if they are making enough in commissions, to purchase their required product - or perhaps even make a car payment.   The percentages, however, point to the fact that most Distributors in an opportunity just don’t earn money.   One must assume then that Trickle-down commissions are a myth.

The point I’m hoping to get across is, DO NOT JOIN AN OPPORTUNITY if you are expecting Trickle-down sales volume or sponsoring.  Do not expect your sponsor to build for you, or even show you how to build.  If you believe your sponsor is going to hold the light that will guide you out of your financial darkness, you’re going to be disappointed.

Go into your opportunity as you would any business - utilizing YOUR efforts, YOUR creativity, and YOUR drive to build your fortune.  If you treat your opportunity as a business instead of expecting a “hand-out” from your up-line, you will have a much greater opportunity for success.   Be determined that you will succeed based on your own efforts.
