blog profitAre you ready to turn your blog writing into traffic and cash?  It’s really not as difficult as you may think.  I’ve shared on the site several times about driving traffic and getting prospects with your blog, but I haven’t spoken too often about building profits from your blog.  Let me take you through a few thoughts in this post that can help you build blog profits quickly.

The first thing to do when beginning blogging for profits is to make a plan. Think through your goals and be specific.  Add those goals to a timeline and stick to it. During the early stages, don’t question your dedication to your blogging project.  When you reach one of your planned goals, give yourself compensation and then move forward, still sticking to your plan.  There are typically two reasons why bloggers fail to make money with a blog.

Each visitor to your blog or website is a potential customer, and any changes you make to the overall site design, usability, or quality of content on your blog can create or damage the customer-client relationship. You want to avoid turning visitors away because of a poorly-constructed site or presentation, and obviously set your sights on finding ways to boost traffic.

Making yourself more discoverable is one part of “Search Engine Optimization” (SEO) techniques, and can help you reach the top rankings of search engines so potential visitors can find you after a simple search.  If you are looking to build a long-term traffic source that regularly funnels targeted prospects to your blog, I’d suggest staying away from ”questionable” traffic generation practices.  If you add good quality content to your site and build healthy linking relationships, the Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc) will reward you with good rankings – which will give you great traffic.  Let’s discuss this in greater detail, so you can start (easily) getting prospects to your opportunity by using your blog.

Increasing visitors requires both a technical approach and some direct marketing. You’ll want to start by making sure you are hosting the blog or website on your own domain; this makes it much easier for search engines to find, and also makes your URL much more credible. You can then use the URL name itself to promote it, adding a ‘www’ tag to your postings, e-mail signatures, and other information that you share on the web. Read more
