Create a controversy and your traffic will soar
March 14, 2008 by Joseph · Leave a Comment
Every day, I try to do something to bring my site more traffic - which will give me [tag]more prospects[/tag] to contact for my business. Over the years I’ve learned some incredible ways to flood my website(s) with visitors, with many of them becoming excellent business partners.
I’ve actually had a great amount of success in developing new ways to bring targeted [tag]traffic to my site[/tag], and converting that traffic into a customer or prospect. The free and low-cost tools that are available make traffic generation a very effective way to grow a massive business. Anyone can benefit their income by learning a few traffic building secrets that can flood your site with people who are ready to send you money.
If you have been on the planet over the past week, you know that there is a major controversy in the USA that has created a media frenzy. The purpose of this writing is not to debate the morality issue, but I do want to highlight an interesting point about online traffic.
The controversy surrounding the Governor of New York and his paid “friend”, has fueled a massive search on the internet. When the “friend” was identified in the media, visitors began flocking to her free MySpace site to get more information on this person.
The traffic to her free MySpace site ended up shutting down the site. In ONE DAY her MySpace site had received over 5 million visitors. I’m sure the vast majority of visitors to the site are there out of sheer curiosity. The reality is, she is now using this controversy and turning her free MySpace site into a recruiting machine.
Regardless of what we may think of this women, the fact is - she is cunning enough to harness the traffic she is getting to her site into a major income. In the span of a couple days, this controversy created over 200,000 listeners to her music. Downloads were now selling for 98 cents each, and she had over a thousand friend requests in a single day. Imagine what would happen to your business if you had 1000 prospects request information about you or your business? The bottom-line is… this lady has had her income skyrocket as a result of the traffic that has flowed to her free site because of this national controversy.
While I certainly do not support or condone this type of behavior, I do think there is a lesson for online marketers who are trying to generate traffic volume. The simple fact is… [tag-tec]Controversy is an effective tool in generating massive amounts of traffic[/tag-tec].
For those who are interested in building a strong traffic flow, my suggestion would be to find topics that are “hot” in the media and do some writing. Think about ways you can perhaps write on controversial subjects. Share your own perspective on the subject, and perhaps stir the pot a little more. Controversy is a powerful tool in building a steady flow of traffic.

When I start looking at ways to build a [tag-ice]traffic flow to my website[/tag-ice], the first thing I absolutely consider is [tag]building a blog[/tag]. To me, it is the equivilent of putting a billboard on the side of the highway to advertise my business. Through my blog, I am able to funnel target prospects to my opportunity.
In this article, I want to share some things you should know about business blogging marketing and how to avoid the most common mistakes that many bloggers make.
The first thing you need to do is understand the basics of blogging and what, exactly, is a blog. A blog is, quite simply, an online ‘journal’ known more formally as a web log. In fact, I like to think of a blog as more of a book with chapters. You regularly add chapters to your story. Although many people use a blog just for journaling and sharing their thoughts, many more people have discovered how to expand the [tag]use of blogs for promoting[/tag] and generating profits and prospects for their business.
How is this possible? It’s not hard; anyone can do it. The key is to understand the unique place blogging has in the online world and use it effectively to reach your target audience. I regularly write about getting traffic and finding targeted prospects.
You will find everything you need to know clearly defined in my book - Using a [tag-tec]Business Blog[/tag-tec], and also my EasyTraffic101 traffic course. You will learn what is most important when you plan your blogging strategy and take advantage of the incredible benefits of using business blogging methods. I will be releasing the e-book very soon.
With this information in hand you can’t help but make money, if you apply it correctly and consistently. Wouldn’t it be great to make enough money to achieve financial security and have the lifestyle of your dreams?
It can happen, but only if you take the steps necessary to achieve your goals. Blogging is a great way to build an unlimited [tag]flow of traffic[/tag] to your opportunity, but it does take some time and effort. I offer plenty of tips on this blog, and provide a great overall strategy in my EasyTraffic101 Course (and my soon to be released e-book).
People just like you are succeeding every day. Are you ready to join them?

Traffic Conversion… The gift of virtual prospecting
February 15, 2008 by Joseph · Leave a Comment

Several months ago I introduced a concept and wrote an article on [tag-tec]Virtual Prospecting[/tag-tec]. Basically, the general theme of the article was to identify the importance of building a targeted traffic flow, that a site owner could ultimately convert into prospects for whatever opportunity the site was promoting. It is certainly a valid concept that carries great importance for anyone who is interested in building a strong prospect list for their [tag]Network Marketing Opportunity[/tag].
Since that time, I’ve developed a far greater appreciation for building a prospect base through my traffic flow. The busier I have gotten in other areas of my life, the more I have recognized the value of developing a strong Virtual Prospecting system by converting my traffic into top quality prospects.
The term Virtual Prospecting perhaps has a different meaning to those who are reading this article. I initially introduced the term to identify the process I use in developing prospects “virtually” through the use of traffic generating systems. It is my strong contention that simply getting massive amounts of traffic will not accomplish much, unless those virtual visitors take some sort of directed action. In my case, I want to convert the visitors to targeted prospects for my opportunity.
Virtual Prospecting has a deeper meaning for me than simply creating a large volume of visitors that simply fill out a form to get a free report. Some people design their site simply to develop a huge list of “leads”. Leads are a good thing, however, in today’s Network Marketing recruiting environment leads are generally very low quality. Of course, that’s my opinion. If you don’t believe me, try purchasing a lead list for yourself and see how well you do in developing prospects.
I personally would much rather spend time developing a virtual Prospecting system - by developing a steady flow of targeted traffic, and then through my site content convert those targeted visitors into quality prospects for my opportunity. That way, when I get a prospect, I know they are specifically targeted and interested in my opportunity. In fact, in most cases the prospect already knows much about me and my opportunity, so when we speak I am able to get right to the point of our shared interest.
Developing the right content that converts traffic into prospects, is part of the strategic approach to building traffic. Simply building a large flow of traffic, is not going to get the results I want. I’d much rather have tightly targeted visitors, who are much more likely to have an interest in my opportunity.
In the days ahead, I will be sharing more articles on my Virtual Prospecting system, and how I’m utilizing the techniques to convert my traffic into quality prospects. Until then….
