Don’t Believe the “Trickle-down” Hype

October 21, 2008 by Joseph · Leave a Comment

I have been in the Network Marketing Industry as a top-earning Distributor, and also have been a high-level Executive at the Corporate Level.  I’ve experienced the industry from both sides, operations and distributor marketing.

As a Corporate Executive, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to thousands of Distributor comments, suggestions, and complaints.  In most cases, Distributors are merely venting frustrations for the fact they are not making the type of money they expected when they joined the opportunity.  They were “led” to believe (by their sponsor) they would make great money - and have to do very little to “earn” it.   In fact, the distributor who was recruited them emphatically promised that they would receive “spill”, or (as I like to call it) “trickle-down” sales volume.

In my opinion, the biggest problem in Network Marketing is the hype that lousy marketers use to get people to join with them.  Network Marketing virgins are gullible to the tactics, because they really want the “hope” of a true residual income.  The problem is - the hope quickly fades once the reality is revealed.

In the MLM industry, unfortunately there are very few massively successful Distributors.  Perhaps the majority will claim success if they are making enough in commissions, to purchase their required product - or perhaps even make a car payment.   The percentages, however, point to the fact that most Distributors in an opportunity just don’t earn money.   One must assume then that Trickle-down commissions are a myth.

The point I’m hoping to get across is, DO NOT JOIN AN OPPORTUNITY if you are expecting Trickle-down sales volume or sponsoring.  Do not expect your sponsor to build for you, or even show you how to build.  If you believe your sponsor is going to hold the light that will guide you out of your financial darkness, you’re going to be disappointed.

Go into your opportunity as you would any business - utilizing YOUR efforts, YOUR creativity, and YOUR drive to build your fortune.  If you treat your opportunity as a business instead of expecting a “hand-out” from your up-line, you will have a much greater opportunity for success.   Be determined that you will succeed based on your own efforts.

Time to Cash In on the Economic Decline

October 17, 2008 by Joseph · Leave a Comment

For quite a while now, people have been concerned about the economy.  If you read the news, it seems there is mass panic taking place all over the world.  Even leaders seem to be sharing the “gloom and doom” report.

It’s interesting that during all the difficulties, layoffs, and wall street woes, Google is showing record profits.  In fact, there are many areas of the economy that will continue to be robust - even in the midst of financial difficulties in other areas.

For Network and Online Marketers, now is the time to really ramp up your business activitity and promotion.  Google is experiencing growth, because people are searching the internet.  Advertising dollars are being spent online because savvy business owners understand what is happening in the marketplace.

Now is the time to rise-up in the economy.  There are huge opportunities to achieve great success.  You just need to understand the climate, and perhaps shift your focus.  There will be a significant number of people who will be searching for online business opportunities to supplement their income, or perhaps replace a job they lost due to the difficulties in the marketplace.   Mothers who have been at home, will also be looking for additional income to perhaps help with household family income.

This is an excellent time to build your online business!

For those who are looking for a great way to build traffic to your opportunity, I will be re-releasing the MLM Traffic Report (version 2.0).  This 50+ page brand-new report will show you how to build a huge flow of traffic to your opportunity using free or low-cost tools.   Signup now to be on the list for the first-release.  Get on the list by going to mlmTrafficReport.com

Hype is Not a Business Model!

September 28, 2008 by Joseph · Leave a Comment

If you have been on the planet for more than 5 minutes, you’ll probably relate to this post.  Every day (actually every hour), I get an e-mail from someone who wants me to send them my money.  They are pushing their product or opportunity and somehow they assume it will cure all of my pains and frustrations.  They push their opportunity with hype and outright lies.

They tell me their product will enable me to run faster and jump higher (I’ve been a victim of “the pitch” for a long time), and… it will also make me rich in the process.  What an incredible concept!  It will heal my body, and heal my wallet - all in one swoop!

Unfortunately, most of the things I get pitched on is just plain garbage.

I’ve been involved with some great [tag-self]Network Marketing opportunities[/tag-self] that offered some legitimate products.  In fact, I got involved with the company because I fell in love with the product - not because it offered an opportunity to [tag-self]earn some money[/tag-self].  The product provided a benefit that I was looking for.  Once I found the benefit to be legitimate, well, a natural marketer was born.  I wanted to share the product with those I love.
